As I was listening to the song "As It Is In Heaven" being ministered by the Chief Musician at my church during this morning's worship service, I received an increased understanding of the portion of the model prayer that says, "Thy will be done in Earth, as it is in Heaven." My mind has been pondering this quite a bit, especially since I recently produced an audio blog entitled, "Fly Away Syndrome," which was quite the experience in and of itself. As the Holy Spirit ministered that blog post's content to me in January, it challenged much of what I heard over the years and to some degree even believed. And hearing that song this morning inspired the following thoughts.
Jesus instructed us in the model prayer to petition the Father for His will, purposes and intentions to be manifested NOW in THIS ENVIRONMENT just as it's ALREADY been manifested in Heaven. WOW!!! Christ is expecting us to desire both HERE and NOW everything that Heaven comprises and represents. We say there's no sickness, sadness, or poverty in Heaven, but our Father is waiting for us to desire this very same atmosphere in Earth simply because it's already existent in Heaven. As a matter of fact, He wants us to desire it so much that we actually petition Him to manifest it in our midst. Glory to GOD! (If you all only knew how I felt right now as I'm writing this!)
Therefore, it's time to elevate our thinking. It's time that we be so heavenly minded that we actually do some earthly good. It's time to stop tolerating those things in Earth that are inconsistent with what's already present in Heaven. It's time to radically adjust our approach to prayer so we can truly experience Heaven on Earth. What's the point in singing another song about what it will be like in Heaven, as if we're some powerless people merely living each day awaiting Jesus' return so He can snatch us out of here? NONE AT ALL. That's why I REFUSE to cry, complain or lament over another thing occurring now that's inconsistent with Heaven. I WILL see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. I WILL experience Heaven's environment in the colony of Earth before I get to the home country. And I WILL pray that Heaven's atmosphere permeates my earthly environment.
So let's pray NOW: Father, in the name of Jesus the Christ, we come boldly before Your throne in full confidence that here we're able to obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. Your name is holy, and Your identity is consistent with everything You say and do. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we decree now over our environment that everything You have willed, purposed and intended for Heaven be manifested right here in the Earth realm even now. Father we permit You to fully execute Your plans for us. We declare that we WILL NOT stand in Your way. We thank You for Your abundant provision each day, Father, and how You continue to ensure we lack nothing. We're truly grateful that You've empowered us to change our situations. Therefore, we repent for not walking in the power and authority You've given us, whether it be the result of ignorance, doubt or rebellion. Forgive us for complaining and crying about the things over which we have been given power as we forgive those who have in any way contributed to these various situations in our lives. As we follow the leading of Your Spirit, we confess that we won't be led into temptation because our obedience will deliver us from the evil one. We give all glory and honor to You, O great and matchless King. To You, all wise Eternal One, be all dominion and power forever and ever, AMEN!
